Spring is here and the musk of sweaty, bedsheet-tearing sex is in the air. A sense of smell helps instinctively search for healthy-looking biological eye candy.
When a person admires your momma's gifts they are really surveying physical traits that can be passed down to their offspring to improve chances of survival.
Ultimately a hot sex session is not just for pleasure. Our evolutionary goal is to procreate and pass seeds along. At least that is the biological and original reason behind having sex.
A lover's aroma is more than just their scent.
Behavioral Endoctorinologist Dr. Winifred Cutler discovered human pheromones in 1986. Produced at puberty, pheromones secrete from unattractive places like armpits. This odorless scent arises in humans and provokes sexual desire, promote fertility by attracting potential lovers and spouses.
Humans have a vomeronasal organ (VNO) at the back of their nasal passage to detect pheromones. Common in cats and dogs, the VNO is used to detect if they are ready to mate.
Along with dolphins, humans are polyestrous, meaning they can get it on whenever they want and for the pleasure of it. We are such animals. Though physical features help in the process of choosing a sexual partner, pheromones are said to help attract compatible immune systems or the next date.
Charles Darwin said we are attracted genetically to one another to find the most suitably healthy match for procreation. Author and ethologist Desmond Morris tells of the physical and evolutionary meaning behind sexes in search of or attracted to certain characteristics.
Eyes Sparkle
A twinkle in their eyes is sexy. The clearer the eyes the healthier the prospective mate might be. In reality you are subconsciously searching for discoloration in the eyes.
Eye contact is intimate and a direct form of communication that shows as Morris said "carnal interest." During sexual activities pupils dilate in excitement or pleasure. Many times when flirting your pupils grow large.
Geometric Beauty
We almost instinctively look for symmetry in a face that suggests better genes. Unfortunately, when unsymmetrical features like a lazy eye pop-out our human bias might deter us from choosing that person. Vanity is partially why humans prefer a nicely shaped face, even-placed eyebrows and a big smile.
Men tend to be attracted to women with wide or curvy hips signaling a woman's healthy child bearing ability. Women aim for men with big hands and wide shoulders because as prehistoric as it seems it shows that men can provide. It's sign of good standing.
Copy Cat
Sometimes men and women mimic healthy inspired features. Blush and tinted lipstick mimic the look of a post-orgasmic flush. Makeup also serves to mimic a healthy youthful glow.
Red-lipsticked lips copy a more sensually intimate event. Sexual intercourse rushes blood flow below the belly button, recreating the look of two encouraged red lips.
For men shaving is not just for good hygiene. It is to appeal youthful.
Truth is, make-up, money, jewelry, social status and personality are the last thing we notice when our Neanderthal instincts resurface to remind us we are mammals. Our evolutionary goal is simple. Look for the best candidate with a strong gene pool to do the wild thing with and create a stronger and naturally enhanced Mini-Me.
