Southwestern College's baseball team has accomplished the unthinkable by winning 22 of its 24 league games and 32 overall, the best record in Bartow's storied career. The legendary coach, who has hinted that he will retire after the season, needs just one more thing for a Hollywood finale - a state championship.

Pregnancy does not slow tennis ace

Annalee Magsino plays doubles even when she appears to be alone. Magsino, an 18-year-old member of the tennis team, is eight and a half months pregnant and still on the court. Magsino has been able to play the entire season this year despite the blessing growing inside her.

Viridiana Martino does it all. And the world is starting to notice. A Southwestern College alumna and Renaissance woman, Martino is homecoming queen beautiful, rocket science intelligent and has a wicked backhand to boot. The University of Southern California engineering student now has another bullet on her résumé, Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Curtis Mitchell runs in fast company. And he runs pretty fast himself. Southwestern College's freshman sprinter is the Pacific Coast Conference's fastest man after winning the 100m dash in 10.48. He also raced to second in the 200m at 21.16. His 100m time is a new SWC record.
