Commenting

The Sun reserves the right to republish web comments in the newspaper and will not consider publishing anonymously posted web comments or comments that are inflamatory or libelous. Some comments will be screened by the Online Editors prior to going live on the site, while others go through automatically. The Online Editors hold the right to remove or deny any comments posted to our site.

While we invite every reader to comment on our stories, we want to make sure that out site maintains an environment where people feel comfortable to have intelligent discussions, if you have any questions about commenting, email us: web@theswcsun.com

College Sun does not necessarily represent the views of the organization. Videos are shot by the Sun's editors and are edited in the newsroom by the online media team. Unless otherwise stated, sources and interviews are conducted in a similar manner to those that are published in print. These videos are recorded in a professional manner and are regulated in order to adhere to the code of ethics used by professional journalists and the student journalists of the Southwestern College Sun.

Blogs present opportunities for personal expression and exciting new journalism. When created by our staff or published on our Web site, they also require cautions, and will be managed by the web editors.

They will be subject to the newsroom's standards of fairness, taste and legal propriety. Nothing may be published under the name The Southwestern College Sun unless it has gone through an editing or moderating process. 

They may include photos or video but not offensive images. We do not necessarily endorse, support, sanction, encourage, verify, or agree with the comments, opinions, or statements posted on forums, blogs or otherwise contained in the Website. Any information or material placed online, including advice and opinions, are the views and responsibility of those who post the statements and do not necessarily represent our views. You agree that we are not responsible, and shall have no liability to you, with respect to any information or materials posted or provided by others, including defamatory, offensive or illicit material, even material that violates this Agreement.
